How Do I Request Help?

(Where to Apply for Assistance)

The Community Toolbox program works with referring agencies to help neighbors in need apply for assistance through our programs. We cannot accept direct requests for assistance. Please email Deb – Habitat for Humanity’s Liaison to the Program with specific questions about the program, or reach out to the below agencies to get the process started.

Currently, we accept approved referrals from the following verifying agencies:

Area Home Care

Area Home Care & Family Services, Inc. is a 503 c (3) non-profit organization that contracts with the State of New Hampshire to provide non-medical, home care services to the elderly and people with disabilities. Presently, the Agency has two of the biggest contracts in the state. The intent of this contract is to provide free service to financially eligible clients.

We are also proud to support Area Home Care’s program called Project CoolAir which helps the elderly and chronically ill impacted by extreme summer heat.

The SHARE Fund is a registered 501c3 nonprofit charitable outreach agency which provides various types of material and financial support to families and individuals in need during emergencies or times of severe hardship. Our primary goal is to provide the needed resources of food, shelter, and clothing.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Exeter

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society’s work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served.

Southern New Hampshire Services

The Mission of SNHS is to provide activities designed to assist low-income participants, including the elderly poor, to secure and retain meaningful employment, attain an adequate education, and make better use of available income; to ameliorate the causes of poverty within the community; to meet urgent and immediate individual and family needs, including health, nutrition, housing and employment-related assistance; and to address the problems and barriers which block the achievement of self-sufficiency.

The Human Services Department’s role is to provide the temporary relief needed by members of the community that have fallen on difficult times.
